Mary Frances Herzog

Herzog, Mary Frances (nee: Kerns), passed on Sept. 4, 2014 at age 54.
Daughter of the late Carl and Ann Kerns; devoted wife of Martin (Mike) Herzog; beloved mother of Abby Herzog and Rachael Hoeme (Joshua); caring grandmother (GiGi) of Griffin and Sophia Hoeme; and dear sister of Maureen Gilkey (Chris), Elizabeth Kerns, Timothy Kerns (Sheri Danz), Thomas Kerns (Mary), Joanne Moses (Joseph), and Carla Wainscott. Wonderful sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend of many more.
Mary touched many lives through her family and friends, as well as through her work as a caring nurse at St. Joseph Health Center and then nurse educator at St. Louis Community College at Meramec. She married her love in 1980 and they raised a beautiful family. Mary fought various health battles throughout the past 12 years but continued to be a rock for everyone in her life, the glue that held her family together across the miles. She loved to travel and was smart, funny, sassy and unconditionally loving. The family is eternally grateful to the staff of St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles and Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, who worked tirelessly to try to save their beloved Mary. Thank you to all of the family and friends who loved and supported her throughout a life too short.
