Mary Jean Gevers

Mary Jean Gevers (nee Lee), of Lampe, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of Edward Donald Gevers; cherished daughter of the late Harold and Frances Lee. Devoted mother of Sheree (Lawrence) Crowe and Brenda (Daniel) Clamors; loving grandmother of Jason Politte, Ian Crowe, Casandra Braden, Ty Clamors, Zachary Clamors, Skyler Clamors, Kendra Angleitner, Dylan Clamors, and Miranda Bermudez; 14 treasured great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law of Alan (Carolyn) Gevers. Preceded in death by two brothers, John Lee and Harold Lee, Jr.; and sister, Mabel Miller. 

Mary was a woman of faith, attending the Baptist Church of Lampe. She was a caring person with a loving heart. Always willing to help those in need. Mary had a big personality despite her small stature. 

Mary and her husband Ed shared 71 years of marriage and built a beautiful family together. She enjoyed traveling with Ed, her lifelong sweetheart, whom she met in grade school. They spent time boating on the river and camping out on sandbars. They were members of the Anchor Yankers Boat Club (AY). 

Mary also loved decorating, approaching it like an artist with a blank canvas, and took great care in making their house a home. She also had a passion for reading and watching classic movies. Additionally, Mary played a significant role in helping Ed run their business, Gevers Heating & Air Conditioning, and was very active in all aspects of it. Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
