Mary Imogene Chilton

Mary Imogene Chilton (nee Starling), of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Robert (Bob) Chilton; cherished daughter of the late Harry and Dollie Starling; devoted mother of Robert (Linda) Chilton and Vickie Griffin; loving grandmother of Becky (Shawn) Mosshammer, Brian (Kimberley) Griffin, Carrie Judkins, and Brant (Courtney) Griffin; treasured great-grandmother of Rachael, Bree, Anthony, Piper, Danica, Mason, Austin, Shane, Ethan, Claire, Emily, and Gabriel; dear sister of the late J.W. (Jane) Starling and Ralph (Dot) Starling.

Mary was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed baking, music, animals, and fishing; but her greatest joy was her family. She taught and inspired her children and grandchildren by her actions more than words. Mary was a peacemaker. She loved people of all ages and looked for the good in everyone. Those who knew her were quietly blessed by her loving care, kindness, and sweet spirit.  Her steadfast faith and love for the Lord was a constant source of peace and strength throughout her life.  Although she will be missed greatly, her loved ones rejoice that she is now reaping the rewards of a good and faithful servant.
