Mary K. Hamlett
January 13, 1948 — December 16, 2020
Mary K. Hamlett of Bridgeton, Missouri, passed away at the age of 72 on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Beloved daughter of the late Benjamin and Christine Brengard; loving life partner of 36 years to Michael Eskew; cherished mother of Diane (Douglas) Frederick; treasured grandmother of Kaitlyn (Cameron) Roberts and Benjamin Frederick; dearest sister of Albert "Sonny" (Windlily) Brengard and JoAnn Brengard. Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mary was a dear friend to many and practically never knew a stranger. She was a bartender for more than 30 years, and everyone loved her for her ability to really listen when they needed an ear to hear and a steady shoulder to cry on.
As an outdoors enthusiast, Mary enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She loved traveling and had the great opportunity of visiting her ancestral land, Ireland, to see where her mother was born, and also to visit cousins in England. The beach was always a favorite destination of Mary’s, and she looked forward to the times where she could relax and dip her toes in the sand. No matter where her travels took her, she made sure to watch the sunset every evening.
Mary had a wide range of interests that reflected the emphasis she put on having fun in life. She enjoyed listening to music on her iPod, playing a good game of cards, and just spending time with family and friends. As a lifetime fisher, she grew up fishing and enjoyed passing the tradition down to her family.
Above everything, Mary cherished her family dearly and had many great memories with them of the times spent at her home at the Lake of the Ozarks, or really anywhere they gathered. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association.
