Mary Quiel

Mary Margaret Quiel (nee Long), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at the age of 101. Beloved wife of the late Fred Quiel; cherished daughter of the late William and Mary Long; devoted mother of Diane (the late John, Sr.) Openlander and the late Patrick (the late Sharon) Sanborn; loving grandmother of John (Lynn) Openlander, Jr., Tim Openlander and Dawn (Chris) Stumpf; treasured great-grandmother of Tessa Openlander, Taylor Openlander, Parker Openlander and the late Jake Stumpf; treasured great-great-grandmother of Klay Openlander. 

Mary was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and participated with Meals on Wheels for many years. She never met a stranger and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mary loved her Schnauzer dogs dearly. In her free time, she enjoyed Golfing and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Mary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  

Memorials may be made in Mary's name to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
