Mary “Sissy” Reid Wilson

Mary “Sissy” Reid Wilson, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at the age of 84. Loving wife of the late Edward G. Wilson; beloved daughter of the late Rienzi and May Reid; devoted mother of May (Mel) Stearn, Miles (Carol) Wilson, Reid (Donna) Wilson, and Jim Wilson; cherished grandmother of Dan (Sam) Stearn, Matt (Morgan) Stearn, and Hank Wilson, and Tate Wilson; treasured great-grandmother of Annette, Eddie, Brady, and Briar; dear sister of June (Bob) Hanson, Carol (the late Ron) Diller, and Tom (Sandy) Reid; sister-in-law of Marlene; and is also is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary is also preceded in death by her brothers, Paul (Clemie) Reid, Jim (Dee) Reid, Bill (Beverly) Reid, and Clement Reid.




Sissy loved being outdoors. She liked fishing, hunting, and being in nature. She was active, going on bike rides, playing tennis, and going for walks. She loved her family get togethers. She was happiest surrounded family and friends. Sissy liked to sing and play guitar. She learned to play guitar, a skill she taught herself. She loved traveling and went to Ireland 10 times! Sissy loved reading nonfiction true crime, playing cards, word games, and Blackjack. When the grandkids would visit, she brought out her box of toys for them. These were the same toys that their parents played with when they were young. She encouraged her own children to appreciate the outdoors like she did. She taught her children so much about life and they will be forever grateful for her love. Sissy was spunky yet kindhearted, welcoming anyone to the home that she treasured. Sissy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
