Marylou Elizabeth Burkhalter

March 8, 1930 — June 18, 2020

Marylou Elizabeth Burkhalter, nee Wolfer, died peacefully on June 18 in Webster Groves at the age of 90.

Marylou is survived by children Barbara Schuette, Patricia Burkhalter and Douglas Burkhalter, and grandchildren Paul and Jillian Schuette.  She is preceded in death by husband Rev. Dr. Donald Burkhalter and brother Edwin ‘Bill’ Wolfer.

Marylou was born in Spring Valley, IL and attended Northwestern University.  She was an accomplished pianist, a dedicated public school music teacher, and devoted church director choir.  She believed that anybody could be taught how to sing.  In retirement, she enjoyed reading, knitting, playing bridge, and spending time with her family.

Donations can be made to the St. Louis Children’s Choir.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Baue Funeral Homes does not require, but encourages, all family members and guests to wear a mask while visiting our facilities. Social distancing is required, and guests should stay at least 6 feet apart. Thank you for your understanding.
