Matt Wanninger of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 38 on Sunday, January 17, 2021. Matt is survived by his beloved wife, Marissa Lewis-Wanninger; his little boy, Dresden; his parents, Tim and Suzanne Wanninger; his siblings, Marc Wanninger and Lauren (Keith) Cobb; and his nieces and nephew, Brinly, Savannah, and Landon.
Matt and Marissa shared a passion for hiking, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and paddle boarding. They loved travelling, and enjoyed many adventures exploring Alaska, Canada, Mexico, cruises, Central America, and in the states. They pushed each other to enjoy new experiences and life to the max.
Matt also cherished every moment spent with his son, Dresden, and loved being goofy just to hear him laugh! Marissa and Dresden were his treasures.
Growing up, Matt loved hanging with his brother, sister, cousins, and friends. There was never a dull moment!
As a kid, Matt was lightning fast and loved soccer, roller skating, zipping around on his kawasaki trail bike, and fitting more subwoofers into his ford probe than anyone thought possible.
Matt had a long career with SSM as a Sr. Electronic Health Record Application Analyst, where he made many lasting friendships. Matt graduated summa cum laude from UMSL and received a MBA from Fontbonne University, he enjoyed learning.
Matt always had a love of animals including his quaker parrot, Pickles, and especially his and Marissa's 2 dogs, Teddy, and his baby girl, Fraulein.
For the past year, Matt has shown us the true meaning of humility, fortitude, courage and strength; as he endured countless treatments, doctor appointments, and hospitalizations. He never gave up, and kept forging ahead.
Matt is dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
