Matthew Adam Friedman

December 6, 1975 — July 9, 2021

Matthew Adam Friedman, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021, at the age of 45. Beloved son of Lou Jane and the late Dale E. Moore and birth parents, Paulette and the late Seymore Friedman; dear brother of Debra (Bob) McCormack, Julaine (Tom) Murphy, Lori Denise Smelik, Marla Friedman and Danny Friedman; and was also a beloved uncle and great uncle. Matthew is also preceded in death by his sister, Lori Sue Moore.

We think God broke the mold when Matt was born on December 6, 1975. He was truly someone special (and cute as a button). Matt warmed the hearts of many with his happy disposition and undeniable charm.

When Matt was 3 he declared that he wanted to be a “McDonald Man.” He achieved that goal and worked for McDonalds for 17 years. He was very proud of his job and loved going to work.

When Matt was 6, his parents purchased and operated Empire Resort in Camdenton. Matt considered himself social director of all resort activities including swimming, boating, pool tournaments, and the game room.

Matt loved attending church, going to music shows (Main Street Music Hall was his favorite), visiting Six flags and Silver Dollar City, and traveling in the RV, especially to Jellystone Park where he could see Yogi and play candy bar bingo.

He also loved birthdays and holidays and would plan for them all year. Above all else Matt loved his family and friends and because he never met a stranger, he had many friends.
Matt lived well and loved well. He had the biggest smile and the best hugs. He found the good in everything and everyone and was an inspiration to all.

He was a wonderful son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and great-uncle. He was incredibly proud of his nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Matt will be terribly missed, but he’s high-fiving the angels and catching up on hugs with Dad, sister Lori Sue, Teddy, and others who’ve been home waiting for him.

Memorials may be made in Matthew's name to Willows Way, 800 Friedens Road Suite 100 St. Charles, MO 63303 or Morning Star Church, 1600 Feise Road, Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368.
