Williams, Matthew "Joe", of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the age of 40. Loving husband of Cyndi (his Cyndigirl) Williams (NEE: Gilmore), precious son of Jim and Susan Williams; fun-loving father of Nathaniel Williams, Noah Williams, and Jocelyn Williams; much loved brother of Mike (Jen) Williams and Aaron (Karena) Williams; son-in-law of James and Shirley Mason. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and "bonus kids". On May 24, he and his best friend would celebrate sixteen years and countless blessings. Seppie cherished his most recent date night with his Cyndigirl a week ago just as much as he did sixteen years ago. He loved watching and analyzing movies and TV and sharing great puns with Nate. Noah and dad enjoyed a guy's night out at a sporting event or watching sports on TV. He would stop the world to see his princess Jocelyn dance or to read or play with her. He loved family game nights, playing outside in sun or snow, taking hikes or long drives with no particular destination. As long as he was surrounded by family, he was happiest. He sought after God with all his heart and wanted nothing more than to be a Godly leader for his family. Joe loved watching or playing sports and always tracked the latest hockey, golf, baseball and football news and scores. His friends could always count on him for his remote trivia knowledge. Vacation getaways, holidays, family dinners, and tee times with family and friends were some of his favorite times. He loved fishing, sharing a laugh and s'mores around a campfire, riding a 4-wheeler and boating. When he wasn't playing hard, he was working hard. He was a loyal proud professional "hardware man." He went back to school fulltime while working full time and also handling his share (and more) of running his household, helping his kids with homework. He completed his Bachelor's in Business with honors at Maryville University last year. Even during family time he held the title of "family photographer." In the midst of the craziness of the Williams household, he knew how to slow down and savor the things he loved most. For music, his tastes ranged from Pearl Jam and Nirvana to Joy FM. His favorite food varied just as much – topping the list would be mom's lemon meringue pie and fudge, or Cyndi's Chippety-Chip cookies or lemon chicken, he loved cheesecake, Chex Mix, chips & salsa, pretzels, double cheeseburgers, Qdoba, and liver & onions with mashed potatoes. His family will miss his grilling, especially chicken and salmon. When dining out, he almost always asked Cyndi of questionable food objects – "Is that a nut?" He washed everything down with Coffee, Pepsi or beer. He also loved bubble gum…especially Bazooka, Double Bubble or gumballs from a machine. The Williams family requests no actual flowers. Instead, please bring photos, magazine clippings or drawings of flowers to be placed on a board. In honor of Joe's desire to give his family the best in life, memorial contributions can be made to the Matthew Joseph Williams Trust Fund to support his children's education. Contributions may be made at or sent to Baue Funeral Home.
