Maureen met Larry, the love of her life, when she put a personal ad in a newspaper circulated in his town. It was an advertisement for someone who would like to meet someone special and, after his reply and her call, they went out to dinner. After a year or so of courtship, they married and honeymooned in Hawaii, which became a cherished time they would never forget. Maureen enjoyed traveling, but especially to visit with family, and one of her favorite destinations was Las Vegas.
As an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Blues fan, Maureen enjoyed watching the games on TV, and she never missed a game. She was even able to listen to the game with her family surrounding her as she made her farewell.
Maureen will be remembered for her caring, kind, compassionate, and patient character, which was a source of strength for her loved ones. She was a genuine sweetheart who enjoyed living a simple, honest life and treasured her self-reliance so that no one would fuss over her. Above everything, Maureen treasured her family – especially her nieces and nephews who she loved to dote on. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions in Maureen’s name may be made to The Ovarian Cancer Society of St. Louis.
