Max Winfred Gettings of Troy, MO, passed Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the age of 71. Beloved husband of 52 years to Norma Gettings; cherished son of the late Fred and Mae Gettings; devoted father of Gina (Tom) Welch and Mark (Christine) Gettings; loving grandpa of Addison Gettings and Ellie Gettings; and dear brother of Fred Gettings, Carl Howard (Joann) Gettings, and Pansy (Bud) James.
Max dedicated more than 28 years of service with Yellow Freight before retiring and was a member of Teamster Local 600. In his downtime he loved to spend time in nature fishing, hunting, camping, or boating on the Mark Twain Lake. He also enjoyed NASCAR Races and other racing. He was known to be very generous, always willing to lend a hand to those in need and had such a welcoming personality that he never met a stranger. Max will be dearly remembered by his family as a wonderful Husband, Father, and Grandpa and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
