Maxine K. Drinen, (nee: Gercken) of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016, at the age of 77. Loving wife of Harry L. Drinen; beloved daughter of the late John and Dorothy Gercken; and dear sister of Darlene (the late Roy) Hillsabeck, Glenn (Dorothy) Gercken, and John (Barbara) Gercken; cherished aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Maxine’s first job was at Kresges Dime Store. She went to work at the telephone office in Watseka, IL for two years. She later came to St. Louis and worked at Lutheran Children’s Home as a house parent for the girls department. She then decided to go to Beauty College, and received her cosmetology license as a beautician, and worked several years in this profession. Maxine met Harry and they were married September 23, 1973 in St. Louis, MO. They enjoyed traveling, camping and hiking together. She enjoyed reading, sewing, music, and going to symphony concerts.
