Maxine Pope

Maxine Pope, 85, of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2016.  She was born in Marked Tree, Arkansas on June 18, 1931, beloved daughter of the late Elbert and Mae McLeskey.  On October 15, 1955 in Holly Springs, Mississippi, Maxine married the love of her life, John.  He survives along with daughter, Nancy, of Saint Charles, Illinois; daughter, Stephanie, of Chicago, Illinois; grandson and veteran, Ryan, of Saint Charles, Illinois; and granddaughter, Ashley, of Saint Charles, Illinois.

Maxine and John were happily married for 61 years and enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren, of whom Maxine was immensely proud.  She was an extremely supportive and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  Maxine was very active in her church and always wore her Sunday best to worship in the house of the lord.  She was a very social and fun woman who valued her friends and loved to make people happy.  Maxine loved her family, friends, music, shoes and shopping.  She will long be remembered for her loyalty, faith, and smile.
