Melissa Ann Caulfield (nee Harris), of Wentzville, MO, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the age of 48. Unforgettable partner to Scott Ellinger. Cherished daughter to James (Susan) Harris and Karen (Late Larry) Schenewerk; devoted mother of Cole Caulfield, Hayden Caulfield, and Mia Caulfield; dear sister to Colleen (Jason) Giebe, and Amanda (Allen) Lee. Cherished aunt to Gina, Victoria, and Peter Valenti, Adeline and Archer Lee, and Trevor and Lucy Giebe.
Melissa graduated from Rosary High school in 1993. She completed her collegiate studies at SIUE in 1998 where she played on the woman’s soccer team making it to the NCCA tournament and setting the record for most red cards in a single season. Melissa dedicated herself to her career in the restaurant industry feeding many and shaping the lives of generations of the Brass Rail family. She loved country music, singing in the car, and was not afraid to show off her questionable dance skills. She had a genuine and loyal spirit, and a direct communication style with many extra explicatives. Melissa loved being a mom, and her legacy will live on through her children. Cole shares his mom’s love for baseball and her competitive nature. Hayden shares her quirky sense of humor and her curiosity for life. Mia has her strong will and her fierceness.
Melissa was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made in Melissa's name to Melissa's Kids Gofundme.
