He served his country in the US Navy from 1963 to 1969, deployed on the USS Randolph. He was a journeyman meatcutter for 46 years and served his last 6 as Secretary Treasurer for Local 88 the meatcutters union. In his retirement, he was the "CEO of the PACU" at SSM St. Joseph Health Center. Mel is survived by his wife, Jeanie, 4 of 9 siblings, 7 children, 22 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Mel asks that you donate to the American Cancer Society. Thank you for your generosity and love.
