Merle Long, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the age of 89.
Merle was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful, intelligent and humble man who loved his family and country. Merle was a graduate of Penn State and loyally served in the US Navy during World War II. His career as an accountant involved lots of travel. Favorite pastimes of Merle’s included watching stocks and sports.
Merle is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joan Marie Truxell Long; one son, John; daughter-in-law, Rebecca and beautiful granddaughter Hannah.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Food Bank.
