Michael Joseph Curry, M.D. died on Monday, May 18, 2015, at the Missouri Veteran's Home in St. Louis. He was 74 years old.
He leaves his wife of 35 years, Patricia (Hedges) Curry; his son, Michael Curry and his wife, Elizabeth (Lizzie); his daughter, Katharine Curry; granddaughter, Lucy; brother, Robert; nephew's Devin and Justin; Mother in Law, Pamela; sister and brother in law, Vicki and John Oldani and many close friends.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri the son of MJ and Lucille (Mounts) Curry.
After graduating from Lindbergh High School in 1957, he attended Washington University, graduating in 1961 with a bachelor's degree in English and Chemistry. He then graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine after which he completed his internship and residency at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown and Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. Michael joined the Air Force in 1967 where his was Chief of Internal Medicine in Korea, stationed in Osan for 18 months.
After his military service, Michael began a 30 year practice at the St. Charles Clinic and St. Joseph's Health Center, St. Charles, Missouri. He was a member of the St. Charles/Lincoln County Medical Society and served on the Board of Governors of the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Dr. Curry had a passion for dogs, and leaves his beloved Weimaraners, Hilde and Truman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2800 West Elm Street, St Charles, MO 63301 where he is a member. Dr. Curry was cremated. Memorials may be made to University of Missouri School of Medicine.
