Michael "Mickey" R. Daugherty of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 92 on Monday, December 14, 2020. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julia Daugherty; his second wife, Mary Jo Daugherty; his parents, Thomas and Mary Daugherty; and eight siblings.
Mickey is survived by his children, Judy (the late Jay) Noser, Son, Michael (Cathy) Daugherty, and Kelly (Dwayne) Best; his grandchildren, Heather, Sarah (Shaun), Emily, David (Ashley), Michelle (Leland), and Wyatt; his great-grandchildren, Brenden, Hayden, Caleb, Savanha, Emersyn, and Chase; and his siblings, Sr. Marie and Joseph Daugherty.
Mickey proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and belonged to the distinct group of heroes known as the Chosin Few for their valor during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. He was a fantastic cook well-known for his Hawaiian ribs, stews, and Texas chili. In Mickey’s younger years he was an athlete who played fast-pitch softball and basketball, but also enjoyed spending his time hunting or fishing. To pass the time, Mickey liked to take on woodworking projects or solve the daily crossword puzzles in the paper. Above everything, Mickey loved being a grandpa and spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
