Michael Stephen Linsenmeyer, age 33, passed on to our Lord at daybreak on Christmas morning 2007. Michael was the dearest friend of Sierra Nance, beloved son of Charles and Virginia, dear brother of Mary Therese (deceased), Chuck (Monika), Sue Rioux (Jeff), Katie Malia (Peter), Sarah (Phillip Zwingle), John, Claire (Brad Frish), Dave, Peter (Jacki Smoot), Francie and Andrew. He was a dear uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. Mike was a graduate of the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Duchesne High School, Georgetown University, and University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law where he met the love of his life, Sierra. Michael lived with humor and great enthusiasm. Throughout his life and especially during his two-year battle with cancer, his radiant energy and strength inspired everyone who knew and loved him. Michael loved adventure and world travel. He was passionate about sustainable development and organic gardening, and dreamed of one day operating an organic farm. He was always planning his next camping, hiking, canoeing or fly-fishing trip, and once climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. He was our family storyteller, a gentle man who spoke badly of no one, an unrivaled cook of paella, a gifted matchmaker and an extraordinarily kind uncle. Many a young niece and nephew caught their first bluegill with Mike's help. He was employed as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri in the office of Morley Swingle, his mentor. Michael was very grateful to all the employees of Cape Girardeau County who donated sick time to him. Michael's family would like to acknowledge all the staff at SSM St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles and the Koenig Cancer Center for their kindness and compassion, especially Dr. Jamshed Agha and the nurses and nurse techs on 5D. Mike was deeply moved by their loving attention and expert care. The family is eternally grateful. In lieu of flowers, Michael has requested that donations in his honor be given to the Academy of the Sacred Heart to help their outreach programs for those in need. These can be sent to the school at 619 North Second Street, St. Charles, MO 63301. Also, donations for the poor may be sent to St. Augustine's Church, attention Father Bob Gettinger, 1371 Hamilton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63112.
