Miguel Morón Guerrero, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 5, 2024, at the age of 93. Loving husband of Dolly M. Morón (nee Threadgill) ; beloved son of the late Miguel Morón Espinoza and Maria Guadalupe Guerrero Morón; devoted father of Sherry L. Vaughn, Dianna G. Becerra, Deborah C. (Douglas R. Beach) Morón Henry, Dr. Pamela A. (Dr. Brooks) Bock, Patricia A. Moussa, Dr. Michael A. (Sally A.) Morone, and Patrick M. Morón; cherished grandfather of Dr. Valerie Vaughn, Philip Avelar, Katherine Henry, Maria Bock, Nolan Bock, Christina Bock, Laura Moussa, Nader Moussa, Faye Moussa, Ella Morone, and Benjamin Morone; treasured great-grandfather of six; and also survived by one brother and one sister. He is preceded in death by nine siblings.
Miguel proudly served in the United States Army and upon being honorably discharged was subsequently employed by the Department of the Army for a career spanning almost forty years. Miguel traveled extensively with the Department of the Army and as a civilian served two tours during the VietNam conflict as well as working throughout his logistics career with other foreign countries in the same capacity. After retirement from the Department of the Army, he and Dolly moved to Harlingen, Texas to be closer to his ailing mother and siblings. While in Texas, he resumed his involvement with the Texas Free Masons and was a member upon his death. Miguel and Dolly enjoyed their retirement by traveling throughout Europe as well as frequent trips to Mexico to visit family. Even though Miguel did not have hobbies, he enjoyed the study of languages and religions which influenced his approach to life.
Miguel focused on the importance of education and was a strong influence and support of his children being educated. His recurring theme was that education was the one thing that could not be lost or taken away. Miguel was extremely proud of the success of all his children and grandchildren and took pleasure in letting all know of their successes. Miguel shared over 65 loving years of marriage with his wife, Dolly. Together, they built a beautiful, caring family, deeply bonded in love. Miguel was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Miguel's name to the American Diabetes Association, Susan G. Komen Foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project.
