Mike McCombs, of Lake Saint Louis, MO, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022, at the age of 81. Mike was born on April 10, 1941, in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was the second of four children to Homer and Hazel McCombs. He married Linda Spindler on April 2, 1961, in Springfield, Missouri and they became proud parents of two daughters, Kelly and Kara. Mike was the beloved Papa “Fix-it” to Kelly’s son Jared, his wife Lizz, and Kara’s husband Matthew Henke, their children Zaden, Khia, Sarah and Hannah. Mike recently became a Great-Grand-Papa to Amelia, daughter of Jared and Lizz. They all enjoyed many fun times together and love from their Papa.
Mike and Linda have lived in Lake Saint Louis over 50 years. Mike loved the lake life with readily available boating, fishing, water skiing, golf, and tennis. He was a licensed pilot who enjoyed flying for vacations or airplane transport. Mike was currently a long-term volunteer for Wings of Hope, traveling the world to help people in need. His favorite project was delivering baby chicks and educating village families to raise chickens for long-term nutrition from their eggs. He was always ready for travel and adventure.
Mike was an original. He accomplished so much, helped so many people, and left a legacy of good. He left no stone unturned in this life.
