Mildred C. “Dove” Benne

Mildred C. “Dove” Benne (nee Chestnut), of Overland, MO, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the age of 92. Loving wife of the late Albert J. Benne; beloved daughter of Abbie and Francis  Chestnut; devoted mother of Barbara J. Bullock and Matthew J. (Kim) Benne; cherished grandmother of Rebecca (Darin) Boggs, Kendra (Conner) McGrew and, Laura Benne; treasured great-grandmother of Dawson Boggs; dear sister of Marion White and Walter Chestnut. Preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Kozemski.

Mildred retired from Monsanto after 20 years of service.

Mildred was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Overland, Missouri, where she was a part of the Sunshine Club and Ladies Guild. She was also a member of Missouri Girls Rodeo Association and the American Paint Horse Association. Mildred was a trick rider, diver, seamstress, and known as a fabulous cook. She loved to host parties and entertain. In earlier years Mildred worked for Erker's in St. Louis, while working for Monsanto, catering for many large parties. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Mildred 's name to Missouri Botanical Gardens or the Butterfly House.
