Mildred K. Borders of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 82 on Thursday, January 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Norma Blankenship.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jesse Borders; her children, Melanie (Leslie) Doyle, Natalie (Philip) Hechler, and Evan (Adrian) Borders; her grandchildren, Shane (Teresa) Smith, James Curtis Hechler, Clayton Hechler, Colin Hechler, Ashley (Rhys) Davidson, and Christopher Borders; and her great-grandchildren, Blake, Faith, Brady, Hope, and Elijah.
Mildred was a devoted member of Fairmount General Baptist Church where she had the honor to serve as the organist and Sunday School secretary for 50 years. Music was Mildred’s greatest passion and she was the proud owner of Borders Keyboard Studio for over 45 years. She also lent her musical expertise to several organizations such as MAMA (Mid-America Music Association) where she served on the Board of Directors, the St. Louis Piano Teachers Round Table and the National Piano Guild. Mildred also greatly treasured the time she spent with family and friends and always looked forward to the times she and her friends would go out shopping together. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
