Mildred LaVelle Woodcock

Mildred LaVelle Woodcock (Van Deren) was born on July 17, 1934 in Van Alstyne, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Paul and Ruth Van Deren and five siblings, Jim, Weldon, Fred, Ruthalea and Robert.  Her family moved from Texas to Sullivan, MO in 1942.  She moved to St. Louis, MO in 1955.

She married the love of her life, Darold Woodcock (died 1/16/2014) on August 17, 1957.   Mildred is survived by her two children, Van Woodcock of Pasadena, CA and Catherine Graham (Robert Graham) of St. Charles, IL and three grandsons, Taylor, Andrew and Connor, and several fond nieces and nephews.

Mildred was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family, especially preparing old family recipes for Sunday dinner and those extra special desserts. She also enjoyed spending time with the Comfort Care group at her church, as well as reading and gardening.

Mildred's life will be celebrated in a service at Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, St. Peters, MO, with a burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church, St. Peters, MO would be an appropriate and appreciated way to celebrate her love of her church and faith.
