Mitchell Edward Pillarick, of Florissant, MO, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Pillarick; cherished son of the late Ignacy and Kasmiera Pilarczyk; devoted father of Karen (Russell) Jennerjohn, Mitchell (Christine) Pillarick, Jr., Gary (Donna) Pillarick, and the late David Pillarick; loving grandfather of eleven; treasured great-grandfather of twelve.
Mitchell was born in Poland as Mieczslaw Pilarczyk. He retired from his work with the United States Army as a civilian with Troop Support Command for 39 years. Mitchell was a decorated Army veteran during World War II in the Pacific Theater, he served honorably with the 164
th Americal Infantry Division, which was the only unit to receive a Marine Corps. commendation. He taught basic electricity and air conditioning at night school at North County Tech. Mitchell was a member of ICD Catholic Church. He loved to dine out and enjoyed Polish cuisine. Mitchell loved his grandkids and enjoyed taking long drives and travelling with his Wife, Phyllis. He was a former scout master in Florissant, MO, he was also a member of VFW Post 4105, Florissant, MO, and was a former Deputy Commander. Mitchell was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
