Mona Nell Jones

Mona Nell Jones (nee Moses), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the age of 93. Loving wife of the late Charles L. Jones; beloved daughter of the late Otto and Layla Moses; devoted mother of James O. (Connie) Williams and Cheri (Debra) Williams; cherished grandmother of Leah (Atias) Ginnett; treasured great-grandmother of Kai Ginnett and Aden Ginnett. Mona is also preceded in death by her brother, George (Lila) Moses.

Mona had a true passion for flower gardening and possessed a green thumb, finding joy in taking care of her garden. She also loved to travel, often exploring new destinations with Charles in their private plane. Professionally, Mona worked on the Mercury space program as well as various aircraft projects including the F15 and AV-8 before retiring from McDonnell Douglas in the late 1980s.

Known for her steadfast nature and kindness, Mona was a creature of habit whose infectious smile brightened everyone’s day. She had a love for cooking and her Christmas fruitcake became a family tradition, so perfect that it was the only one they ever enjoyed. Mona was a big St. Louis Cardinal fan and there was rarely a moment during summer that KMOX game broadcasts were not heard around the house. Mona was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Mona's name to donor's choice of a veteran focused charity.
