Nadine N. LaFavor
September 9, 1926 — May 20, 2022
Nadine N. LaFavor, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away at the age of 95 on Friday, May 20, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Belle (Borland) Bales; her siblings, Russell, Eugene, and Lee Bales; and her husband, Stanley A. LaFavor. Nadine is survived by her brother, Richard Bales; children, Bobbie R. LaFavor, Terry A. (Maryann) LaFavor, Kent S. (Cari) LaFavor and Sheri S. (Richard) Sabbert; her nine grandchildren; and her six great-grandchildren. Nadine was a kind and gentle soul who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved to travel with her husband and soulmate, Stan. She was an accomplished seamstress and spent many years in her church’s quilting group. Nadine loved to read and enjoyed playing word games that required a dictionary. She said it helped to strengthen her vocabulary. Married for seventy years, Nadine referred to her husband as her “knight in shining armor,” but, in many ways, she was his too. They met at a ballroom in downtown St. Louis a few years after WWII, and their first date was to see Disney’s Cinderella. Theirs was a true storybook romance. Nadine followed Christ and was faithful through the end. While her family will miss her immensely, they know she is finally at peace, reunited with her husband and her Heavenly Father. Memorials may be made in Nadine's name to Habitat for Humanity or American Cancer Society.
