Natalie Nicole Fetsch, of Wylie, Texas, went to her Heavenly home to meet her Lord and Savior after a valiant two-year battle against breast cancer.
She was born in Hendersonville, Tennessee, the daughter of Stephen and Cheryl Warner Butler. She married on June 30, 2007 in St. Charles, Missouri to Daniel Fetsch. Survivors include: her husband Daniel; her twin daughters Ella and Claire, and son Gabriel – all of Wylie, TX; her parents, Steve and Cheryl Butler of St. Petersburg, FL; and her sister Stephanie Wasson of Lee’s Summit, MO.
Natalie resided in Kirkwood, Missouri during her preschool and elementary years. During her junior high and high school years, she attended Department of Defense schools in Germany and Belgium. She was active in high school track and field, and swimming. Living overseas allowed Natalie to travel extensively in Europe, Syria, and Burma during her late teenage years where she developed a love for other cultures and cuisines.
Natalie received a B. A. in Sociology from the University of Central Missouri, in 2006. After putting her career on hold to raise her children, in 2016 she resumed pursuing her dream of becoming a mental health counselor. Persisting through the challenge of balancing home life, school, and internships, in 2019 she graduated with a M. A. in Counseling from Colorado Christian University.
Dan and Natalie lived in Enid, OK; Kingsville, TX; Virginia Beach, VA; Sneads Ferry, NC; Albany, GA; and finally, Wylie, TX. Throughout these years, Natalie focused on serving others in and outside of the home. She served in various women’s ministries, children’s behavioral practices, crisis pregnancy centers, and as a volunteer counselor at The Samaritan Inn of McKinney, a center for the homeless of North Texas. She was also a dedicated and selfless mother to her three children, and took great joy in caring for her family, and making homemade meals for family and friends.
In 2017, Natalie started as a student with Counseling Center of North Texas (CCNT) and in 2021, she became a Licensed Professional Counselor. She was a dear friend to her colleagues at CCNT for the last 7 years. Natalie had a calming energy about her, making her a natural fit for the counseling profession. She gravitated to those facing the most challenging of issues. Her devotion to those unable to afford care sparked discussions about how to provide services in those cases. This year, a non-profit is being established In Natalie's name to continue her mission of servicing her community and helping to make mental health treatment more accessible.
In 2020, Natalie heard the Spirit’s call while driving past Wylie Northeast Church (WNEC). She knew God wanted her to plug in to this small church community; and she did just that. Natalie saw a need for women to connect with each other, and she set out to meet that need. Within the year, she created the Friday Morning Women’s Bible Study group that has become a staple for the church. The women’s ministry has since grown and flourished as a result of her watering and God’s faithful hand. She became the Women’s Minister in 2024, receiving a formal title for work she was already doing. She faithfully pointed the WNEC women to Jesus.
Natalie’s thoughtfulness and genuine love and care will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was, indeed, a shining beacon of God’s light to all who encountered her.
