Neil Thayne Murphy

Neil T. Murphy, born in Kansas in 1938, passed away August 5, 2023 at the age of 84.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald "Jack" Murphy, his mother Vivian Murphy and his brother Don Murphy. He is preceded in death by almost 2 years by his beloved wife, Barbara Murphy.

He is survived by James (Jeannie) Murphy and Melissa Newfield (nee Murphy) and his grandsons, Doug Murphy, Andrew Murphy and Christopher Newfield

Neil was an intellectual who also worked with his hands. He worked for the Wentzville School District for 5 years. He then worked at St. Louis Diecasting for 27 years-while taking college classes like Calculus and Drawing and Photography -- he was always a student and an Educator, no matter where he was working.

Neil had a lifelong passion for reading. He read paperback and hardback science fiction novels voraciously. The last few years he listened to hundreds of books on tape.

If he wanted you to take his advice for living, it would be to ask more questions and to constantly seek to learn more.
