Nellie L. Bruce

Nellie Bruce, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 83 on Thursday, July 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Beulah Elder; and her siblings, Charles Elder, Eldon Elder, Carolyn Durham, and Virginia Elder.

Nell is survived by her husband, Claude P. Bruce; her son, Christopher Bruce; her grandchildren, Lilian and Jacob Bruce; and her brother, Glenn Elder.

Nell was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of St. Charles where she sang as a member of the choir. Many of Nell’s greatest memories were made as a 20+ year member of the Volksport Walking Club where she walked over 25,000 miles and throughout all fifty states during the time of her membership. She made her mark all over the country, hiking in such places as the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, West Point on the Hudson in New York, Monterey Madness in California, through the Alaskan wilderness, the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, and many more exciting destinations. Nell was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial contributions in Nell’s name may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
