Nina Kristine Wingate
March 18, 1949 — December 10, 2021
Nina Kristine Wingate (Dela Roche), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, at the age of 72. Cherished daughter of the late Maurice Armstrong and Elizabeth Jean Wingate. Devoted mother of Brooke Dela Roche, Kyle (Katelyn) Dela Roche, and the late Jacob William Dela Roche; loving grandmother of Makenzie "Kenny" Roth and Jacob Dela Roche; dear sister of Paula (Roy) Gormley; treasured aunt of Joe Albanese, Aaron Gormley, and Clint Gormley.
Nina graduated from Central Methodist University with a Bachelor’s in Education with a major in Physical Education where she was on a basketball scholarship and played softball. She was also a member of the Alpha Sorority. Nina had a passion for sports and dedicated over 30 years in the St. Charles School District. She pioneered woman's sports, founding the women’s basketball program at St. Charles High. She instilled her love of sports to her children and supported them through their sports and extracurricular activities. Nina enjoyed traveling and the outdoors; camping, going on float trips, and finding peace on the beach. She adored her children and grandchildren, and always put family first. Nina was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Nina's name to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
