Norma Jean Jezik, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at the age of 84. Loving wife of 62 years to the late Gene Jezik; beloved daughter of the late Felix and Lucy Johannesmeyer; devoted mother of Wayne (Linda Navarre) Jezik and Ree (Robert) Wysong; cherished grandmother of Amy Caspers, Nikki (Shawn) Blake, Rob (Charlotte) Politte and Justin (Lindsey) Politte; treasured great-grandmother of Jacob, Landon, Brooklyn, Taylor, Aiden, Matthew, Payton, Reznor, Urie, Levine and Skyler; dear sister of Frankee (Gene) Tajkowski, Esther Saunders, Bonnie (Bill) Jeune, Theresa (Bob) Ortbals, the late Patricia (Larry) Branneky and her late infant brother Harold Johannesmeyer.
Norma retired from the banking industry, and she was able to spend the last 15 years of her career working with her daughter at GGI Worldwide making wonderful memories. She was a hard worker and a truly an invaluable asset to the company.
Norma loved traveling with her husband Gene, especially to Puerto Rico. For about 25 of those traveling years, they spent the winters in South Padre Island. She and Gene also prayed the Rosary together every day.
Among her other talents, Norma liked sewing, cooking, and baking. She was known best for her rhubarb pies and apple pies. She and her sister, Frankee, enjoyed making quilts together. She also looked forward to tending to her flower garden during the nice spring and summer weather.
Norma truly cherished her family, and she could often be found spending time with her iPad on Facebook to see how her kids and grandkids were doing. She also kept herself up-to-date on her emails, and she liked playing games too! She was an avid sports fan and liked watching various sports on TV and was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Norma was the modern-day matriarch of her family, and life won’t be the same without “The Boss” to tell everyone what to do. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
