Norma “Jean” Meyer (née Cain), of St. Charles, MO, passed away peacefully at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her beloved second husband of 50 years Robert “Bob” Meyer and her cherished first husband Joseph Robert Harbour Jr, as well as, her parents Virginia and Richard F. Cain, Jr. Jean was the devoted mother of Robert (Charla) Harbour III, Michael Leigh Harbour (George Black), and Keith (Sheila) Meyer. She was a loving grandmother to Joe(Carolyn), Kelsey, Alex, Ben, Olivia, Antonio, and Miguel, and the great-grandmother of three. She is also survived by her sister, Betty (the late Richard) Rodkey and her many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces and cousins…

A passionate advocate for education, Jean served on the St. Charles School District Board from1983-1998. She was also an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 40 years, serving many leadership roles. Jean earned a Bachelor of Arts in Home Economics from the University of Alabama and was a lifelong fan of Alabama Football (ROLL TIDE).

She was a long time member of St. John United Church of Christ, where she particularly enjoyed supporting the youth choir trips. Jean’s life was marked by generosity, philanthropy, and a deep love for her family. She was a constant presence in her grandchildren’s lives and events,always offering unwavering support and encouragement.Jean always considered herself a southerner but when she moved to St. Charles, she adopted it as her hometown and was an active supporter of the community. She also had a passion for travel; enjoying many great adventures with her husband Bob, family, and various groups of friends throughout the years. She was a snow bird who loved the beach and also enjoyed her time at the Lake of The Ozarks.

Jean found joy in logistics and numbers, from Sudoku to accounting. She also had a creative side and enjoyed sewing, photography, playing cards, dancing, reading and music. Above all,Jean was the heart of her family, always prioritizing time with her loved ones. She was admired by her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and PEO Chapter LR.
