Norma Stipes

Norma Lee (Anderson) Stipes (Feb. 6, 1932 - June 14, 2012) Norma Lee Stipes passed on to new life in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the age of 80. Originally from West Frankfort, Illinois, she was the devoted and loving wife of Ray Edward Stipes for over 61 years; beloved daughter of the late Hettie Smothers Smith, Orville Anderson and stepfather Opal Smith; devoted mother of Stephen (Shelley) Stipes, Kelly Stipes-Ruprecht, Lisa (Daniel) Dooley; cherished grandmother (Mammaw) of Meredith (Geoff) Engelmeyer, Elliott (Lindsey) Stipes, Nathalie (Ryan) Ozbun, Jordan Stipes, Kristina Jackson, Kyle Jackson; cherished great-grandmother of Nolen, Logan, Madelyn, Alivia, Graham, Carson, Teagan, Isabelle, Ryder, Jason, Sara, Madison, Leah and Emma; loving sister of Barbara (Louis) Ottolini, Linda (Clifford) Norman, Sue (Jay) Williams, the late Jerry Lynn (Virgil) Russell, Billie Jo (Rounder) Ray, brother Greg (the late Lee) Smith and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews. Norma lived for over 45 years with her family in St. Charles where she was dedicated in serving in many community and fundraising organizations including St. Charles Junior Service League, St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf and St. Joseph Health Center and was a member of a women's bridge club for many years where she made some very special lifelong friends. All who ever knew her loved her and felt loved by her. She will be greatly missed by all. Norma's family requests memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
