Jansen, Officer Grant Anthony, of St. Peters, Missouri, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at the age of 42. Loving husband of Annette Jansen; Dear Son of Rudolph G. (Helen) Jansen and the late Donna Fay Jones-Sellman; Doting father of Tyler and Paige Jansen; Loving Brother of Patrick Christopher (Tina) Jansen and Samantha Fay (Steven Joseph) Tebeau; Dear Step Brother of Kathy (Jim) Rolfsmeyer and Nancy (Kevin) Anderson; Son-in-law of Richard John and Leona Behrens; Brother-in-Law of Major Tony Behrens and Richard John (Dawn) Behrens Jr.; K-9 Partner Czar. He was a loved uncle, nephew, cousin, hero and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his Son Cole Grant Jansen; Step-father, Bruce Darden Sellman; Grandparents, Harold and Charlotte Jansen, and Alfred and Helen Jones. Officer Jansen was a 20 year law enforcement veteran, the last 13 years serving with the St. Charles Police Department assigned as a K9 Officer in St. Charles, MO. He previously worked for the St. Charles County Sheriff's Office, as well as the Berkeley Police Department. He was a 1993 graduate of the St. Charles County Police Academy. He was proud of his successes in highway interdiction. He was a member of the St. Charles Police Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Missouri Police K9 Association, North American Police Working Dog Association, National Narcotics Detector Dog Association, Road Warriors, and Desert Snow. He had the gift of intuition and always overcame adversity. He was admired by his fellow officers and his community, but most of all he was the rock of his family. His children and wife Annette were his life. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
