Opal Elmer Mccarty

April 1, 1924 — February 4, 2002

Memorials may be given to First United Church of Pentecostal, at the church, or at any of the Baue Funeral Home locations. Rev. O.E. McCarty married Flora Estelle Sanders on October 30, 1944 in Modest California and worked as a carpenter for Valley Asbestos for 23 years. He then moved to the State of Vermont and started a United Pentecostal Church in Barre, Vermont from 1967 until the summer of 1974, when he moved to Newport Vermont and started another church. He retired in 1987 and was an Honorary minister of the United Pentecostal Church until his death on February 4, 2002, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton Missouri. Rev. McCarty was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Oma McCarty and two brothers, Rev. Delmer McCarty and Rev. Erenst McCarty. He is survived by his wife, Flora Estelle, two daughters, Nawana S. Everson and Karen King, one son, Rev. Loy D. McCarty, one sister, Marl Lou Barnhard, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
