Tip was born January 15
th, 1931 in Humansville, MO to Ora Clifford and Margie (Gump) Box, and departed this life, August 8
th, 2021. Tip graduated from Weaubleau, MO High School, 1949. He served in the United States Army from Jan. 1952 to Sept. 1953, spending 16 months in Korea. After his return home, he met and married Jean Frieze on Feb. 13, 1954. To this union 2 children were born, Sheryl & Randy. In 1956, they moved to St. Charles, MO. Tip accepted Christ as his Savior in 1956, and later moved his membership to St. Peters First Baptist Church. He helped Jean teach Sunday School and helped in the nursery. In 2006, they moved their membership to First Baptist Church of St. Charles where he remained a member until his death.
Tip was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company, where he was a Sheet Metal Worker. At one point he was laid off, so he attended and graduated from Barber School. After about 2 years of barbering, he decided he preferred Aircraft work, so he went back to McDonnell Douglas where he retired in 1992 after 30 years of service. Tip and Jean enjoyed traveling with their good friends Bill and Bev Fuller and saw many points of interest in the United States. Tip was a family man and loved his family dearly. He loved helping people less fortunate than himself but wanted to stay anonymous.
Tip leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter Sheryl (Shannon) Wilson, a son Randy (Kristine) Box; 3 grandchildren, Greg (Lindsay) Wilson, Tracie Colbert, and Dustin (Rebecca) Box Hellmann; step-grandchildren, Eric Cross and Julia Cross; 5 great-grandchildren, Cydney Wilson, Aubrey and Cannon Colbert, and Tegan and Zeddius Hellmann; a sister, Maxine Norton, a brother-in-law, Charles Land, a sister Dollie (Raymond) Harper; Jean is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, his parents Ora Clifford and Margie; step-father Ike Buckner; a sister Betty (Jack) Keller, a brother Montie (Joyce) Box, a sister Helen Land, a brother-in-law Bill Norton, a brother-in-law Joe (Ann) Frieze; a grandson-in-law Joey Colbert and a host of relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made in Ora's name to
American Heart Association - St. Charles Chapter.
