"Big O", of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at the age of 92. Beloved husband for 67 years of the late Evelyn Ermeling, loving son of the late Edward Ermeling and the late Edna Ermeling (nee Bloebaum), loving father of Barbara (Hugo) Leimkuehler and Vernette (Wayne C.) Ehlmann; loving father-in-law of Karen Ermeling; cherished grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of ten. He is preceded in death by by his son, Russell Ermeling; and brothers, Vernon and Edward, Jr. "Babe" Ermeling. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and belonged to the Men's Club, Board of Elders and the Counting Group, serving as the Sexton of the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery for many years. He was a life member of the Bowling Association and a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame, bowling for more than 65 years. He also bowled Cocked Hat bowling for 25 years and proudly bowled a perfect game. He played baseball for St. Charles County EMBA for ten years. Orville was an avid fisherman, at one time catching a 40 pound catfish, and was the Horseshoe Champion of St. Charles County. Orville was employed as a milk man with Elm Point and St. Charles Dairy for fifty years.
