Pamela “Joy” Gibson of St. Peters, MO passed away Wednesday December 20, 2023, at the age of 67, after a long and courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Loving, and caring wife of Jeffrey K. Gibson. Beloved and devoted mother to Nicholas (Lori) Gibson, and Matthew (Bailey) Gibson. Kind-hearted and proud grandmother to Chase Gibson, Cayden Gibson, Crosby Gibson, and Lucas Widel. Dear sister of David (Diane) Niznik and stepsister to Lisa (John) Holbach and John Steven Niznik. Joy was preceded in death by her loving and gracious grandparents Clyde and Grace Bell.
Joy was raised on a farm in Salem, MO by her amazing grandparents for the majority of her childhood. She enjoyed adventures with her brother David, and riding her horse, Ginger. She later moved to Lake St. Louis and attended St. Mary’s High School. In 1973, her junior year at St. Mary’s, she started dating Jeff Gibson, who quickly became her best friend, and then loving husband of 48 happy years.
Joy was a devoted, patient, and loving wife and mother, and eventually an adoring, proud, and amazing grandmother. Joy enjoyed spending weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks, vacationing at the beach, and traveling with Jeff whenever possible. She loved spending time with Jeff, family and friends, especially her sons, daughters-in-law and grandsons, which included attending all of their sporting events, school functions, Grandma Joy trips to the movies, shopping trips and lots of time on the boat.
Joy had a long career in the financial services and insurance industry, most recently at Edward Jones as a Program Leader and various other roles for the last 23 years. She took great pride in her work, and valued attention to detail, honesty, and strong relationships. She was respected and valued by her co-workers and really enjoyed her career.
