Pamela Joan Hedges passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at the age of ninety-eight. Pamela was born in England on May 30, 1926, to Thomas and Ethel Mary Williamson. Pamela lived in Surrey, England until she met the love of her life, Jerry Hedges, when he was an American soldier serving in WWII. After a short courtship they married, and Pamela moved to the United States with Jerry. Pamela soon became a true Hedges, feeling great love and acceptance from his entire family.
Soon after arriving in the United States Pamela became an American citizen and wore that badge proudly. She flew her flag daily to demonstrate her patriotism. Pamela loved all things about America, especially sports. The St. Louis Cardinals were her favorite team.
Most of all Pamela loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She particularly loved attending their sporting events, award ceremonies, recitals, and graduations. In fact, she prided herself on rarely missing an event.
Pamela was predeceased in death by her husband Jerry Hedges, her brother Tony Williamson, and her sister Mary Powell. Pamela is survived by her daughters Patricia Hedges Curry (Michael – deceased), Vicki Hedges-Oldani (John), her grandson Michael Curry (Lizzie), her granddaughter Katharine Curry, and her great grandchildren Lucy and Jack Curry. In addition, Pamela has a surviving sister Valentine Lambert in England along with a nephew Guy and two nieces, Belinda, and Samantha.
Graveside services for the immediate family are scheduled for a future date.
