Patty J. Terry

Patty J. Terry passed away peacefully at her home, Assisted Living at the Meadowlands, on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her parents, H. Clifton and Lena Mabery, her husband, Deward Terry and her son, Mark Terry. She is survived by her daughter Jane (Gryfon) Ketcherside of St. Charles, her grandson Ben (Brielle) Ketcherside and her great granddaughter, Kaylee Ketcherside of Wentzville. 

Pat was born in Desloge, Missouri. She attended and graduated from Bonne Terre High School in 1945. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State College in 1949 with a degree in Home Economics. Pat and Deward were married on June 25, 1950. They were happily married for 70 years, until Deward's death in 2021. 

Pat taught Home Economics for thirty years, first in Southeast Missouri, and then for 27 years at Bonne Terre High School and North County Junior High School until her retirement in 1985. She influenced generations of students with her wisdom and humor and maintained relationships with many former students. She was an active member of the Bonne Terre Church of Christ and the hospital auxiliary. 

Pat and Deward moved to O'Fallon, Missouri in 2005, where they enjoyed being close to family. They were beloved members of the O'Fallon Church of Christ. They later moved to Assisted Living at the Meadowlands and enjoyed being part of that community.

Memorials may be given in Pat's name to O'Fallon Church of Christ  or Bonne Terre Church of Christ.
