Paula Kay Kelly, an amazing wife and mother, joined the angels in Heaven at the age of 59 on Tuesday, February 26th, 2019. She resided in the O’Fallon, MO (St. Charles area). She was born Paula K. Funk in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Marvin J. and Jane E. Funk (nee Bullard), oldest sister of Randall S. Funk and Jeffrey A. Funk, all of whom have preceded her.
Though growing up in the small town of Mascoutah, Illinois, her travels led her to St. Charles, Missouri, where she married her husband Kevin M. Kelly on December 5th, 2008. They remained married and best friends at the time of her passing.
Paula was a beautiful, vibrant, and ambitious woman. It was her belief that every opportunity was valuable, and her personal accomplishments were a powerful testimony to her work ethic. In addition to earning the highest national certifications as a Realtor, and numerous specialty awards, she was a piano teacher, seamstress, gymnast, fitness enthusiast, volunteer for various charity organizations and events, and—most importantly to her—a devoted mother to three children and four grandchildren.
While she endured the unfathomable tragedies of losing both her son, Michael A. Lewis Jr., and her grandson, Maurice Kerry Crisman III, Paula was always a light to others and never complained of her own suffering. Her relentless positivity was one of her most stunning qualities. Her interest was always in helping others, regardless of the sacrifices she had to make.
Paula will be will be remembered as a woman with the heart of a servant and the spirit of a warrior.
Paula is loved and survived by her husband, Kevin, two daughters, Lea McDonald and Lauren Crisman, and three grandchildren, Logan, Sophia, and Avishay. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her could instantly sense her unconditional devotion to her family. Her steadfast love has created a multi-generational impact which is her legacy in this world.
