Pauline Faye (Shearer) Livingston, 93, from St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023. She was born on August 13, 1929, to Glade and Rose (Cannon) Shearer. Pauline accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at a young age. She graduated from Blockton High School in 1947.
Pauline married John Livingston on August 28, 1949. The couple spent their honeymoon at the Iowa State Fair. They resided on a farm east of Bedford, Iowa, for many years, eventually moving to Florissant, Missouri, in 1993. In 2010, the two of them moved to St. Charles, Missouri. Their 65th wedding anniversary was just a few days before John passed away in 2017.
Pauline enjoyed gardening, cooking for others, sewing, and working alongside John. Full of life and adventurous, they traveled the world. In her later years, she accomplished many items on her bucket list: riding a camel, swimming with dolphins, soaring in a hot air balloon, going on two Caribbean cruises with her daughters, learning to swim, dressing up for Halloween, and sleigh riding at age 85. Some of her favorite things were: tacos, root beer floats, popcorn, puzzles, solitaire, Word Search, Wii Bowling, feeding the fish at the Rec Plex, eating at the “blue roof” (Culver’s), and especially spending time with family.
She earned the nickname “Little Grandma,” standing at only 4 foot 6 inches tall. The grandkids and great-grandkids eagerly raced to stand back-to-back with her to see if they were finally taller.
Pauline was the mother of Diana (Stephen) Fichter of O’Fallon, MO, Rena (Johnny) Ready of Caney, KS, and Marilyn (Jay) Thornton of Council Bluffs, IA; grandmother of Krisha (Michael) Klug of Liberty, MO, Kari Fichter of St. Charles, MO, Amy Hightower of Caney, KS, Leeann (Jordan) Klepfer of Council Bluffs, IA, Adam (Danielle) Ready of Mesa, AZ, Sara Thornton of Council Bluffs, IA, Kimberly (Brian) Smith of Omaha, NE, and great-grandmother to 18 great-grandkids, whom she adored.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John, infant daughter, Wanda, twin infant sons, Richard and Roger, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Thornton.
