Perry “P. J.” Montgomery

Perry Joseph (P. J.) Montgomery, 68, died at his home in O'Fallon on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. P. J. was born May 18, 1944 in St. Charles, MO., to Glennon and Dorothy (Missey) Montgomery. He attended St. Peters School in St. Charles and then entered the seminary in Wisconsin. After leaving the seminary, P. J. entered the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged in June 1971. He worked in the propane business for 42 years retiring from Ameri-Gas in 2010. On September 3, 1988, P. J. married Russetta Malloy in St. Charles. He is survived by his wife, Russetta; 2 step-sons Doug (Terri) Malloy of Lee's Summit, and Pat (Julie) Malloy of Troy; 6 grandchildren Jacob, Ethan, Cortney, Krista, Brendan and Kara. He also leaves 3 sisters Glenda "Sis" (Joe) Long of Monroe City, Sandy (Rick) Kunza of St. Charles and Karen (Dan) Ostmann of O'Fallon and 1 brother Jerry (Pat) Montgomery of St. Charles, and many nieces and nephews. P. J. was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Jimmy and Ronald. As per his wishes the body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Donor's Choice.
