Memorials may be made to the Siteman Center of St. Peters or Nurses and Company Hospice. McGuire, Peter S., of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Friday, September 25, 2009. Dear husband of Susan McGuire (nee Wilson), dear son of the late Novlean Jiles and step-son of Lee C. Jiles (Dane), loving father of Regina Gilbert of St. Charles, MO; loving step-father of Sarah (Andy) Nunnally of St. Charles, MO and Rebecca Blechle of Warrenton, MO; cherished grandfather of Andrew Gilbert, Sarah Gilbert and Devin Luesse; cherished step-grandfather of Kailyn Blechle and Hailey Blechle; loving brother of Jearl Brizendine of St. Peters, MO, Rick Jiles of St. Louis, MO, and Garrison Jiles of St. Louis, MO. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Jeffrey. He was employed as a Manager at Anheuser Busch Brewery in St. Louis, MO. He was a member of the Jonesboro, Arkansas Hog Club and the Midwest Scuba Club of St. Charles. Peter Seay McGuire was a man loved by his friends and family. A private, gentle soul, with a great sense of humor. When he cared he did so whole heartedly. A hard working man, he was a veteran of the United States Army. For twenty years he worked as a Police Officer with the Jennings and Riverview Gardens Police Departments. Some of his fondest memories were of the camaraderie with his fellow officers. He also spoke fondly of his canine partner, Thor. He recently retired from Anheuser Busch where he was a manager in the St. Louis Brewery for seventeen years. Pete remarked that his work interferred with his hobbies. He was a scuba diver, motor cycle rider, and studied taekwondo. As a Master Scuba Diver, he loved traveling the world and was an avid underwater photographer. A friendly, genuine person, he has made friends throughout the world. In his honor, his dear friends and English Rose have dedicated a dive to him at the time of his funeral service. He enjoyed his 2004 Harley Davidson Road King. He and is wife, Susan, frequently road their bikes between their homes in Missouri and Arkansas. His beloved pug, Miss Muffy Lou McGuire occasionally road on the back of his bike. On one occasion he was pulling into a gas station and looked down to see a black pug running along side him. Thinking this dog looked like his, he realized that this was his dog! Muffy had jumped out of her cage when he slowed down. Two rolls of duck tape and a lot of prayers later he completed his trip with his "passenger" secured in her cage. Pete was devoted to his family. His plans were to move to his home in Arkansas so that he could spend more time with his Dad, Lee C. He truly treasured their walks in the back field and tinkering around the homestead. Pete enjoyed time and conversations with his brothers. He was proud of his grandchildren and loved his daughter, Regina with all his heart. His marriage to Susan reads like a fairy tale. He loved her deeply. When asked right before he died what he was most afraid of, he responded "not seeing my wife again." The void Pete leaves will never be filled, he will truly be missed and loved.
