Philip C. “Phil” Millard, Born in Britton, South Dakota in 1925. He graduated from high school in 1943 and entered the United States Marine Corps., 1
st Division. Philip served from 1943 to 1946 in the South Pacific on the island of Pavuvu, in Japan, and in China.
He attended radio announcing school after his discharge from the service and became a staff announcer in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 1949, he started work at TWA as an air-ground radio operator, including work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 1975 to 1983. He spent his career with TWA until he retired in 1983 as a project coordinator.
Phil is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carole, two daughters, Chris Robinson and Shari (John) Eckert. Four grandchildren: Kate (Cade) Smith, Lindsay (Russ) Brown, Jordan Eckert, and Brendan Eckert. Four great-grandchildren: Reid, Philip, Merritt Smith, and Lorelai Brown, and sister, Ruth (Ron) Angerhofer.
Phil is preceded in death by his parents, Percy R. and Christine Millard, and ten siblings.
Phil loved to read and listen to music. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
