Ficken, Phyllis Ann Died peacefully in her home on Monday, April 23, 2012. Born in St Louis on October 18, 1940, daughter of the late Weslie Orville and Ilia Mary Whiteside. Dear wife of 50 years to Gerald Ficken. Loving Mother of Lance and Leanne Watson-Ficken and doting Grandmother of Caden Joseph and Zachary Philip Ficken. Caring sister of Lanny R. Whiteside of Chillicothe, MO; Mary Anne Deatherage of Wichita Falls, TX; and Janet Kay Hays of Kansas City, MO. Aunt, Great Aunt, Sister-in-law, Cousin and Friend to so many kindhearted individuals. Phyllis was a tremendous Mother, wonderful Grandmother, remarkable homemaker, die hard Cardinal fan and 40 year consultant for the Mary Kay Company. Phyllis was devoted to volunteering her time to organizations such as the Boys Club, Cub Scouts, Catholic Youth Council and school extra curriculum activities, In 1984, she earned a Honorable Letter for scorekeeping in support of the St Charles High School Pirates baseball team (at the age of 43!) For her own enjoyment, Phyllis was a sophisticated member of the Bodacious Red Hatters in St Charles County. The family extends its gratitude to the medical staff of Mercy Hospice program.
