Phyllis Davidson

Phyllis Ann 'PD' Davidson, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and caring friend and neighbor. Daughter of the late Ralph Roy Johnston and Flossie Faye Young Johnston. She was born in their home on January 23, 1937 in Macon MO., Ralls County. She passed at 1:45 am on January 2, 2015, 21 days shy of her 78th birthday.
Phyllis was smart, beautiful, and a strong leader. She spent the majority of her career at Western Diesel Services in St. Louis. She began her career in the Accounting Department in 1968, and from there she rose to become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. After serving 31 years with the company she retired in 1999. She was well liked and respected in the diesel engine industry especially by her associates at Detroit Diesel Allison, division of General Motors.
She is survived by three daughters Lisa Davidson of St. Peters, MO., Lori Pointer of Washington, MO., and Tracy Ebert of St. Peters, MO., her grandchildren Zachary, Joseph, Audrey, Clayton, and Lauren; beloved nieces Nancy Johnston Kinsley, Linda Johnston Roberts, and Dawn Likes; dear sister of Howard (Alma Jane Hudson) Johnston; she is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends; dearest cousin of Luigi (Betty) Ferrara and Vida Greening. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son John F. Tewell Davidson, her granddaughter Samantha Paige Ebert, and her siblings Ralph Roy 'Junior' Johnston, Jr., Harold Johnston, James Johnston, and Mary Lou Johnston.
Since her retirement Phyllis made her home in Osage Beach MO., where she was a member of the Elks Lodge 2517, she cherished all her friendships she made there. Phyllis enjoyed reading, gardening, and birdwatching, but most of all she loved traveling and visiting with her lifelong friends Teasie Shively and Paul and Alice Buckman, and her dear friend and colleague Peggy Smith.
