Phyllis was an amazing homemaker and enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends, playing cards (pinochle and pitch), Cardinals Baseball and many types of music. She spent many years as a remarkable caregiver for both her parents, her sister and a dear friend. Phyllis donated to numerous charities especially the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter. She had a sharp mind, quick wit and an immediate response for anything someone said to her. In her later years, she enjoyed being around and conversing with Melanie's friends.
Phyllis had a special place in her heart for her last three Shih Tzu fur babies and she treasured them like grandchildren. Faith was very important to her and she attended numerous churches in Pike County throughout her life, mainly the Clarksville Christian Church; plus churches in St. Charles, mainly the St. Charles Christian Church.
Melanie would like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to very special friends, Shara Balotti, and Ronald Lovercheck. Both of them truly made the past few months easier on her and her beloved Momma. Phyllis loved them for their comfort, kind, witty and generous natures. Melanie would like to acknowledge Dr. Max Benzaquen and Dr. William J. Phillips at St. Luke's Hospital for many years of exceptional care. Melanie is very grateful to Becca James, RN; and the outstanding services of Hope Hospice.
